I generally resort to them in foul weather or on bad hair days.
One day I was wearing this hat and while at the drive-thru at the bank. The woman in the car next to me was yelling and waving her arms. I rolled my window down.
"I like your hat!" she yelled.
"Thank you!" I yelled back.
Good grief. I thought the bank was being robbed.
This hat is one of my favorites, but it's enormous and hard to pack for a trip. Still, it is just so much FUN!
I can wear a hat or take it off, but either way it's a conversation piece.
Peaches Fine Millinery in historic Chickamauga Ga. Carol is a charming former French teacher and designs many of the hats herself. It's a blast to hear her give the history of some of her favorite pieces and hear her run down the history of hats. Check out her fabulous store if you are ever in north Georgia.
Darling, tell her Pen and Hive sent you. ;)
She won't know who that is but you can tell her.
What you should probably say instead is that "some woman whose husband wrote a book on the battle of Chickamauga, and stays in your shop for hours when she's in town, and disrupts your entire business with her zany friend by trying on every hat in the store" sent you.
She'll know exactly who you mean.
