One Lovely Blog Award

There's always something fun going on among bloggers. Right now I'm prepping for a 31 day series for October. Meanwhile, the most organized and awesome woman I know, Kirsten who is busy organizing the world over on her blog Organized Charm, nominated me for this fun award. If you need motivation and inspiration for getting it together, she's your girl!

Here are the rules for this award:

- Thank the person who nominated you & include a link to their blog
- List the rules & display the award
- List seven facts about yourself
- Nominate another blogger(s) {as many as you want!} & let them know they have been nominated
- Follow the blogger who nominated you

7 Fun Facts About Me:

1. I once handed a customs agent my passport with a panty liner stuck to it. Yes, it was as horrible as it sounds. I was coming back home from Greece with bacterial pneumonia and a raging fever (don't you love souvenirs?). The entire trip home was a blur and when the immigration officer asked for my passport I handed it over with the panty liner stuck to it. He held it in his hand for a few seconds and looked at me while my brain tried hard to process what was wrong with the picture...when it clicked I reached across and counter and snatched back the the pad while it made the loudest sound any adhesive has ever made when removed. Good times.

2. I was a home school mom. Not the kind with the denim skirt and 3 foot braid. Just the kind that thought it would be more fun to keep the kids at home and make salt relief maps of Egypt and read the classics aloud than get up at the crack of dawn every day and send off cranky kids to school in the dark. Call me crazy.

3. I'm an introvert. In case you don't know that means I would rather stay home and read a book than go to a social gathering. But I'm not a wallflower once I show up at your party I'll be the life of it. Or as a friend told me once "You're a lot of fun once you leave the house."

4. I'm a beekeeper. Or as I like to say "I work for the queen." I keep these beehives in my back yard in the suburbs. It's an interesting hobby. If you are an introvert and never know what to say at parties (they're a nightmare aren't they?) take up beekeeping. The only original thing you ever have to say is "I'm a beekeeper." After that you just answer questions and you appear fascinating and mysterious until you get to go home.

5. I love packing. I love to travel but so do lots of people. The fun of leaving home for me begins when I can start putting outfits together and using all my packing skills to take the most outfits in the least amount of room. I once went to Italy for nine days with one bag. And it was a carry on.

6. I try to learn one new thing a year. One year it was baking bread, another year quilting. Of course there was beekeeping and raising chickens. This year it's knitting. And golf. No I don't know what's wrong with me either.

7. Last year I did a boudoir photo shoot. That's about all I can say about that. ;)

I nominate Kate Holthouser from Suitcase Lioness. Kate is living her dream (and mine and a few other people's) by living in Spain for 9 months to teach English. Her blog is insightful and hilarious. If you need a little vicarious adventure plus a song and Spanish word of the day head over there and check it out!
