This China cabinet makeover is one of the most popular posts. Apparently I'm not the only one letting go of the traditional uses of things and remaking them into useful things for how we live now.
But the reason I'm reposting it is because there's a lesson here: if you can't do the perfect thing, do the best thing you can do at the moment.
When I originally redid this cabinet I wanted to use those white adhesive hooks to hang my jewelry. I never got around to actually doing that though, so whenever I was getting dressed I'd be digging around in here looking for what I wanted. Last week when I cleaned out my closet and organized these accessories, I was thinking about that and decided to use thumb tacks instead.
It's organized, I can see everything, and that nagging about it not being done right is gone.
Today's lesson: Use what you have on hand to improve something now instead of waiting for the perfect solution later.
